3GSM GmbH is Winner of the “John A. Hudson Rock Engineering Award”
Professor John A. Hudson was a world-renowned expert in rock mechanics holding a professorship at the also famous Imperial College, London. He passed away in 2019.
ISRM, the international society of rock mechanics, whose acting president John was for many years, decided to offer a new prize under his name – the John A Hudson Award for “developing an outstanding rock engineering project” or “promoting good practices with innovative technologies…”.
With great honour and pleasure, we at 3GSM accept to be the first recipient of this prestigious prize that was planned to be presented this October on the occasion of the EUROCK 2020 conference in Trondheim, Norway. For reasons we all know this conference needed to be cancelled as many others. (John btw. chaired the very first one of this successful series in 1992 in Chester, UK.)
Thank you, ISRM award committee – we take this with great honour!
